Mason & Hamlin

Why Choose a Mason & Hamlin Piano

Mason & Hamlin has been building pianos in the United States since 1854. Originally based in Boston, Mason & Hamlin now builds pianos in its Haverhill Massachusetts factory. Known for high-level American craftsmanship and features like their 17-23 plyflat sawn hard rock maple rims Mason & Hamlin pianos have a strong robust quality.

In 1900, Richard W. Gertz developed Mason & Hamlin's famous Crown Retention System to counteract the enormous downward pressure on the piano's soundboard, ensuring the proper curvature of hte piano's soundboard stays true over its lifetime. This preserves the tone and power of the piano.
